Mold Growth in a Miramar Beach Attic

The roof did not do its job of keeping rainwater water from seeping into the sheathing and rafters in this Miramar Beach attic. Fortunately, the homeowner inspected his attic after smelling a musty odor. SERVPRO technicians then came to remediate the mold damage. The roof was patched to prevent further water intrusion by cutting off the source of moisture that was feeding the mold colonies. Our team then "ice blasted" the damaged cellulose materials. This methodology directs pressured dry ice pellets to chafe the molds from their anchors and cleaning the surfaces. An antifungal product was sprayed to inhibit airborne spores (that were not captured by the use of air scrubbers) from developing into new mold colonies.
